“And all the spaces of our past moments of solitude, the spaces in which we have suffered from solitude, enjoyed, desired, and compromised solitude, remain indelible within us and precisely because the human being wants them to remain so… We return to them in our night dreams. But in the daydream itself, the recollection of moments of confined, simple, shut-in space are experiences of heartwarming space, of a space that does not seek to become extended, but would like above all still to be possessed.”

– The Poetics of Space, Gaston Bachelard

Stop. Take a breath before you pass through the door. During this past year, our work spaces have infiltrated our private spaces, our homes have become our children’s playgrounds and we have mostly focused on surviving and sisyphically charging along from task to task. Now we are calling on you to pause for a moment and experience this space of suspension, to digest and accept the liminal spaces as well as the decision to linger within them.

The transitional space – starting with the very threshold of the door you just passed and including industrial zones between cities as well as airports – is an ex-territory that allows us to operate according to rules that are different from those we usually follow in our routine, urban spaces.

The works presented here display the notions of space and time in different contexts: From the social to the blurry line between product and space.

We invite you to go in, linger, wonder, daydream and stroll throughout the space.
