Opening gala, Thursday, July 1st

Design Week’s opening night will be marked via several events and performances. As we unveil all the exhibitions and installations on the festive opening night, we also expect to encounter various musical, performative and circus-related interventions throughout Hansen House. Among them are: Clown X, a group of multidisciplinary artists, which will operate as Design Week’s official circus group. They will hold a big central performance on the opening night along with musicians and other guests, and will also carry out other interventions. Artist Sally Krysztal will hold an ongoing tattoo performance alongside artist Bar Pelesh. Artist Liron Ben Zikri will read your cards at the Kishufuni exhibition, and participants in the Matchmaker Project will invite viewers to participate in a Jerusalemite culinary-design experience.

More Info

Popup store by “Asufa”

Like every year, Hansen House will host a popup store by “Asufa”, a shop for Israeli design products offering a unique concept.

Flora

The lounge area of Design Week. Jerusalem’s Pizza Flora will provide delectable dishes and drinks for eight days at Hansen House’s courtyard.

Ofaimme Farm

The Ofaimme Farm for sustainable agriculture was founded in Moshav Idan in the Arava Desert by brothers Yinon and Hedai Ofaimme. The farm advocates ‘another kind of agriculture,’ which enables direct contact between growers and consumers, while maintaining ecological balance and fair trading. Using traditional methods, the farm produces goat cheeses, olives and olive oil, honey, jams, various spreads, etc. The Ofaimme Farm Café was opened in the historic physician’s house at Hansen House. The structures adjacent to the physician’s house are used as the farm store, private rooms for dining, meetings and lectures, while another room was converted into a library for Jerusalem students. During Jerusalem Design Week, festive dishes will be offered at the café in honor of the event.
