Spells, charms and curses are not a thing of the past. They are very much present nowadays and are constantly evolving.

As in days past, people still helplessly must face the forces of nature as they seek to understand and control the realities of their lives. The world of witchcraft offers an illusion of escape and power over reality. The Kishufuni mysticism shop sells illusions, offering the audience a blurring of boundaries and allowing them to take the magic back home with them.

The exhibition contains a store where the products and their copies are put up for sale.

The shopping experience within an exhibition is confusing, boundary-blurring and escapist in its own right. It questions the authenticity of the mystical experience and asks: Is the purchase the result of the experience, or vice versa?
