The Hanged Man tarot card presents the possibility of escaping present reality through the realization that a true change is an internal one. The hanged man depicted on the card is carrying out a voluntary action: He is hanging himself upside down, restraining and restricting his body due to his desire to free his consciousness and his imagination so he might able to take on a new perspective.

This diorama is based on an illustration from the renowned science fiction book “Flammarion”; published in 1888, the opus describes the story of a nomad who reaches the end of the world. As his head peeks beyond the familiar world as we know it, the nomad gazes in astonishment at the endless spaces of dreams and mythology as well as at the wondrous astronomic mechanisms of the universe.
