At the other side of contemporary consumption culture resides a hidden world which rarely lifts its head from its hiding spot backstage.

The shiny, well-groomed, protective facade which offers the escapist pleasures of modern living is mirrored by leftovers and waste, and as the first intensifies, so does its reflection.

Circus of the World Today seeks to expose the world behind the mirror, and draw inspiration from​ the fringes of the cycle of consumption, from​ those who have chosen a life of careful use of what they have, avoiding what is beyond their reach, while transforming waste to a sustainable aesthetic. This project explores the visual side of waste through new eyes and asks: what worlds can leftovers conjure?
