Escapism is not necessarily achieved by travelling to a different place or beyond one׳s body and mind but sometimes it is a channel out of society’s conventions and the accepted way of life. The film ButoHouse by directors Ila Bêka, Louise Lemoine describes a random stroll on the streets of Tokyo that leads the filmmakers to a small door in a strange-looking house. Inside, they find a man who has spent the past 14 years building his house by himself, alone and with no plan to guide him. A butoh dancer, the man improvises freely with his body, as well as with concrete.
After the screening we will hold a zoom talk with the filmmakers.
